Obituary of Morris Gallaher

Morris Wesley Gallaher, 85, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Carrie Stone Gallaher for 52 years. Born August 26, 1926 in Bedford County, he was a son of the late David Nathaniel Gallaher and Lottie Belle Goodman Gallaher. He was a graduate of Boonsboro High School and a member of Timberlake United Methodist Church. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during World War II. Morris enjoyed woodworking and made many fine pieces of furniture for his family. In addition to his wife, Carrie, he is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Gallaher Guandique and her husband, Ever, of Washington , D.C. and Catherine Gallaher of China; one grandchild, Wesley Rafael Guandique, also of Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and James Gallaher. A celebration of Morris? life and faith will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Timberlake United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Rob Colwell officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 2201 Park Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24501 or Campbell County Humane Society. Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory-Waterlick Chapel, 237- 2722, is serving the family.
