Obituary of Kenneth Mitchell

Kenneth Preston Mitchell, 81, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Summit. He was the husband of the late Pansy Dowdy Mitchell. Born November 2, 1930 in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late Robert and Marie Watkins Mitchell. He was retired from B&W as a radiation control technician and a member of The Church of Christ. He proudly served our nation in the United States Navy. He is survived by two step-sons, Henry Shifflet of Danville, Aaron Shifflet of Lynchburg and special friends, Minister Michael Justice and his wife Rhonda of Lynchburg. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 11, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Minister Michael Justice officiating. Viewing will be from 9:00 AM- 9 PM daily at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion-Post 16.
