Obituary of Edward Moore

Edward Warren Moore (?Moe?), 72, of Lynchburg died Sunday, August 5, 2012 He was the husband of Louise Davis Moore for 43 years. He was the son of the late George William and Katherine Peters Moore. Moe was born on August 12, 1939 in Lynchburg. He graduated from Holy Cross Academy as Senior Class President. He served in the United States Marine Corps. As a young man, he worked with Louise at Doyle?s florist. He retired as Vice president of Consolidated Shoe Company after 45 years of employment. In addition to his wife, Moe is survived by his three sons: Edward Warren Moore Jr. (?Ned?) and wife, Jennifer of Chicago, IL. Richmond Williamson Moore and wife, Cathie of Thomasville, NC, William Davis Moore and fiancé, Dara of Lynchburg and a stepdaughter, Audra Willet Mercer of Charlottesville. He is also survived by three grandsons: RJ, Tyler and Davis Moore and a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Moe?s Life will be held Thursday, August 9th 2012at 1:00 p.m. in Diuguid?s Wiggington Road Chapel with the Reverend Paul S. Doyle CSC officiating. ?We have lost a wonderful kind-hearted man. We will always remember his big smile and upbeat attitude. His friendship was a gift.?
