Obituary of Walter Beard

Walter Randolph Beard, Jr. 89, of Madison Heights passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Privette Home. Born in Amherst County on July 6, 1923 he was a son of the late Walter Randolph Beard, Sr. and Lois Johnson Beard and was the widower of Florine Tomlin Beard. Mr. Beard served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army. He was retired from the Greater Lynchburg Transit Company and was a member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, Randy Beard and his wife, Jane and Michael H. Beard all of Madison Heights. Two grandchildren, Lori M. Beard and Eric S. Beard. A Celebration of Walter?s Life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Randolph Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Derrick Hamby officiating. Interment will follow in Tudor Hall Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 PM Monday, August 13, 2012 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel on Timberlake Rd.
