Obituary of Eleanor Rogers Scott

Eleanor Marie Rogers Scott of Lynchburg passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Medical Care Center. She was born on June 8, 1923, the daughter of the late William A. and Elizabeth Colwell Rogers. Marie was educated in the Lynchburg City Schools. She retired after 27 years of employment with Virginia Baptist Hospital / Centra Health. She was a long time member of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Herman Scott. Four brothers, William A. Rogers, Robert L. Rogers, Paul E. Rogers and Earl H. Rogers. Two sisters, Margaret E. Rogers and Cornelia V. Rogers. She is survived by two step-children, Jerry Scott of Lynchburg and Stuart Scott of Tempe, AZ., step-granddaughter, Dawn Utz, and cousins, Carolyn and Wyatt Skinnell all of Lynchburg. A graveside service will be conducted 10:00 AM Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Bart Edwards, Pastor of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church officiating.
