Obituary of Michael Dunn

Michael Harwood Dunn, 63, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at his home after an extended illness. Born April 7, 1949 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Waric Thompson Dunn, Jr. and Edna Bullock Dunn. Mike was self- employed as a contractor. He was a member of Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his former wife Vanessa Harris Dunn, his step-daughter, Candace Marie Guthrie; one sister Mary Beth Reid and her husband, Phil; a special niece Amy Reid Gordon and her children, Allyson Gordon and Matthew Gordon all of Lynchburg; special cousins, Tom Davis and Beth Baker; He is also survived by his little doggie companion, ?Hector?. He was preceded in death by a special nephew, Jason Phillip Reid. A celebration of Mikes? life and faith will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel with the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8- PM at the funeral home. A cremation will take place after the service.
