Obituary of Shirlee Olesen

Shirlee Marie Olesen (known for years as Shirley Coleman) went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Virginia Baptist Hospital with her family by her side. Shirlee was born October 4, 1934 in Strawberry Ridge, PA and was a daughter of the late Harold Olesen and Myrtle Van Horne Olesen. Shirlee leaves cherished memories with her son, Douglas Coleman and his wife, Sally of Staunton and daughter, Sandra Mayberry and her husband, Dave of Evington and her former husband, Norman Coleman of Lynchburg. Nanny loves her grandchildren, Andrew Coleman and his wife, Kristy, Carrie Harlow and her husband, Brad, Sarah Marie Flores and her husband, Ben and Christian Erby. Great grandchildren, Lincoln and Tucker Harlow and Reid and Riley Marie Coleman. She worked for seventeen years for Dr. C.E. Keefer and after his retirement she worked for Season?s Greeting Card Co. Shirlee lived her life to the fullest enjoying every moment. She loved Elvis and anything purple. She attended Tree of Life Ministries and was a member of Rebekahs Fairview Lodge #52, the American Legion Post 16 and the Red Hat Society. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Green Assisted Living, Lynchburg General Hospital Surgical ICU, Centra?s Specialty Hospital, Dr. James Cure and her Orthopedist, Dr. Andrew for making her last days comfortable. Shirlee has requested that a funeral service for family and friends be held at the graveside in Fort Hill Memorial Park at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 15, 2012 with the Rev. Mike Dodson officiating. Shirlee?s family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Monday, October 15, 2012 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel on Timberlake Road.
