Obituary of Lewis White

Lewis Monroe White, Jr. Lewis M. White, Jr., 85, of Forest, died Thursday, October 18, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Evelyn Crist White for 66 years. He was born on October 5, 1927, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to the late Lewis M. White, Sr. and Christine Booth White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Otis White. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, and his children Marcia W. Fifer (Larry), Lewis M White, Michael W. White (Vicky) and Martin L. White. In addition to his children, he is survived by his grandchildren, Rebecca Cox, Shari Eagle (Eddie), John White(Jillian), Elizabeth White (Patrick), Carrie White, and Tori White; great grandchildren, Skylar Cox, Colby Cox, Lauren Eagle, Laney Eagle, Aiden White, Jaxon Duff, Landon Eagle, Jordan Duff, and Jayden Duff. Lewis retired from the Lynchburg Transit Company in 1989, after 35 years of service. He requested a private graveside service which is scheduled for Monday morning, October 22, 2012. Dr. Tom Thomas, pastor of Bethany United Methodist Church, where Lewis was a long time member, will officiate. The family will receive friends at Bethany United Methodist Church, Forest, on Monday afternoon from 12pm until 2pm. Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory-Waterlick Chapel, 237-2722, is serving the family.
