Obituary of Ernest Freeman

Ernest Loyd Freeman, 82, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Jeane Elizabeth Freeman. Born October 11, 1930 in Lynchburg, VA, he was the son of the late Charlie Earl Freeman and Elsie Hesson Freeman. He was a retired salesman form Barker-Jennings Corporation and a member of the Kirk. He served in the United State Marine Corps and was a former Mason. He also served many years as a Deacon in his previous church. He survived by one son, Michael ?Mike? Freeman and his wife, Becky, of Forest; two daughters, Cynthia ?Cindy? F. Bumgarner of Forest and Gayle F. Baker and her husband, Ronald, of Lynchburg; six grandchildren, Casey Patterson, Cameron Patterson, Dana Pribble and her husband, Paul, Carrington Baker, Chad Freeman and his wife, Regan, Derek Freeman and his finace?, Jennifer Hill; three great-grandchildren, Emma Pribble, Hampton Freeman and Hudson Freeman. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Peter Bumgarner. A graveside service will be held Monday, November 5, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in Spring Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Al Stewart and Rev. David Heerspink officiating. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post-16. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 P.M. at the funeral home.
