Obituary of Thomas Hargis

Thomas McIvor Hargis, 74, of Lynchburg died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Dianne Hargis. Born October 23, 1938 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Guy Hunter and Margaret McIvor Hargis. In addition to his wife, he leaves to mourn his two daughters, Pamela H. Watson and her husband Allen, Debra H. Maddox and her husband Beau; two brothers, William Hargis and Malcolm Hargis and his wife, Ann Lee; one sister Margie H. Garrett; five grandchildren. L.A. Watson IV, and his fiance' Christina, Christine W. Hedrick and her husband Will,Carol Ann Maddox and her fiancee' Brian, Maggie French and her husband, Stuart, Donna Raye Maddox and Brandon; and his three rescued cats. A celebration of Thomas's life will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. The family will recieve friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Dr.,Lynchburg, VA 24501.
