Obituary of LaVerne Morris

LaVerne A. Morris, 102, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at The Summit. Born March 4, 1910 in Perch, VA, located in Amherst County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Granville Morris and Georgia Etta Smith Morris. She was a member of First Christian Church and was a self-employed caregiver. She is survived by a special niece, Frances Hensley (Ashby) of Arrington, VA and a special nephew, Larry Peters of Manassas, VA and two additional nieces Cynthia McFaden of Lynchburg and Ellen Peters Feagan (Robert) of Bedford, VA; three nephews, Tommy Peters (Sadie)of Staunton, VA, Ronnie Peters of Lynchburg and Roger Peters ( Debbie) of Madison Heights, VA; 13 great nieces and nephews, 19 great-great nieces and nephews and 5 great-great-great nieces and nephews and a special friend Carol Sandidge. She was preceded in death by two sisters, LaDelle Hamner and Helen Peters. The family wishes to thank the staff of The Summit for their loving care and concern given to Miss Morris. A private interment will be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will have a memorial service at a later date which will be announced at that time.
