Obituary of Robert Edward Hobbs

Robert Edward Hobbs, Sr., 85, of Morgan Hill, CA and formerly of Lynchburg, VA, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 in Gilroy, CA. He was preceded in death by two wives, Lillian Crist Hobbs and Katherine Staton Hobbs. Born August 26, 1927 in Lynchburg, VA, he was a son of the late Charles Garfield and Ruth Burks Hobbs. He was a charter member of Park View United Methodist Church (currently Park View Community Mission). He is survived by three children, Robert E. Hobbs, Jr. and his wife, Dolores of Ridgeway, VA, David Allen Hobbs and his wife, Barbara of Birmingham, AL, and Brenda H. Renzulli and her husband Carmine of Morgan Hill, CA; one sister, Elizabeth H. Blankenship of Forest, VA and was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earle B. Hobbs , Sr. and Joseph A. Hobbs. Services will be held Friday, August 16, 2013 at Park View Community Mission with the Rev. Phil Showers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:00 AM, directly followed by the funeral service.
