Obituary of Mabel Harvey Vaughan

Mabel Estelle Harvey Vaughan, 81, of Lynchburg passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the widow of Sterling Lewis Vaughan, Sr. Born December 29, 1931 in Kenbridge, VA, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Harvey and Dorothy Elizabeth Harvey Rutledge and her step-father, the late Thomas Rutledge. She was a homemaker and member of the Baptist faith. She is survived by four sons, Sterling Lewis Vaughan, Jr. and his wife Dorothy, Tony Vaughan, Sr. and his wife Karen, Michael Vaughan and his wife, Barbara and Terry Vaughan and his wife, Vicky, all of Lynchburg; three daughters, Delores Seamster and her husband, Robert, Deborah Vaughan and special friend, Beverley Ashwell, Patricia Cyrus and her husband, Glenn, all of Lynchburg; one brother, Tommy Rutledge and his wife, Shannon, of Richmond; one sister, Thelma Adkins and her husband, Merle, of Kenbridge, VA; eight grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Dan G. Mason officiating. The family will receive friend's Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
