Obituary of May Gordon

May Carter Gordon, 76, of Lynchburg and formerly of Bedford died Sunday, February 24, 2008 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Warren Duane Gordon. Born June 12, 1931 in Bedford County she was a daughter of the late Dewey S. and Jimmie Overstreet Carter. May had worked as a nurse for a number of years with Carilion Health in Bedford. May is survived by her son Patrick D. Gordon and wife Christina of Christiansburg; two grandchildren, Darrian and Noel Gordon; two nephews, Sam E. Davis and John Davis; a niece, Elizabeth D. Myers all of Madison Heights and a number of other nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-9 pm at the funeral home. Those wishing to make memorial contributions please consider the American Cancer Society. .
