Obituary of Edward Garland Rogers

Edward “Sonny” Rogers of Rustburg passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023.  

Edward was a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy. He served as Traffic Maintenance Shop Supervisor for the City of Lynchburg and Traffic Operations Manager for the City of Hampton, VA. His part time endeavors included Automotive Salesman and working with the Virginia Employment Commision. He was active in local sports, especially softball and bowling. He was a member of the American Legion Riders Post 16, Moose Lodge 715, Tin Can Sailors, American Amphibious Forces Association and USS Pocono (AGC-16) Association. Edward was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church. His parents, Abbitt and Rawley preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Anna Marie, his daughter Lisa and stepchildren, Tammy Howe, Mike Murray, Terry Graham, Scott Jones and Steve Jones.  

A memorial service is being planned.
