Evelyn Clark

Obituary of Evelyn G. Clark

Evelyn “Sis” G. Clark passed away peacefully and entered Heavens’ gates on June 12, 2023 at the age of 89.

She was born December 11,1933 in Baltimore MD to Fred Frank Short and Agnus Henderson Short.

Evelyn was a deeply spirited woman who shared God’s love with others. She devoted her life to God, her husband, and her family. Evelyn was an incredible woman, a Proverbs 31 woman. A woman of dignity, patience, diligence, generosity, courage, wisdom and devotion. This is who Evelyn Clark was. She was successful in all of these because she was vulnerable in the hands of God. She gave glory to God for everything.

Evelyn married her childhood sweetheart, John H.Clark, “Bud” on April 5th, 1952. They shared a true, loving, respectable marriage, a marriage to be admired. They raised four children in Maryland, and later moved to Virginia where they would continue to raise the rest of the family, their grandchildren & great grandchildren.

She was joyfully “Nanny” to all who loved her. Evelyn was generous, loving and kind. She worked as a switchboard operator and quickly became a homemaker and beloved wife and mother.

The kitchen was where she spent most of her time preparing every meal with love. She was an incredible cook who collected recipes and shared them with her family. Food was her love language. If you ever sat at her dining room table, you would know. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert were always served, let's not forget her famous sweet tea that she couldn't make fast enough for all that entered.

She was an inspiration to all that knew her and was loved and admired by many. She shared her wisdom, her words were encouraging and educational, and if you listened, you’d learn a thing or two. The impact of her life will be felt for many years to come. God placed her here as an angel, her light and love will continue to live through us.

Evelyn Clark, you will be missed.

Evelyn is joined in heaven with her loving husband John H. Clark, 9-3-11 and all her K9 friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories with her children John H. Clark, Sandra L. McCabe (David), Kimberly J. Schaal (Kenneth Ron) and Bruce W. Clark, her grandchildren John, Jeffery, Brian, Patrick, Taylor, Christopher, Codi, Meagan, Alexis and great-grandchildren Gabrielle, Grayson,Elijha, Rowan, Layne, Shiner, Raylyn, and Lincoln and nieces and nephews.
