Obituary of William Joseph Motley

William Joseph Motley 

William Joseph Motley, 60, left his earthly body Monday December 26, 2022 with his wife Deborah by his side.  He was born January 15, 1962, in Lynchburg, Virginia to Richard (predeceased) and Nancy Motley. He is survived by his sister Patty (Charles) Fuller, niece Sarah (Zack) Glover and great niece Beverly; brother Michael Motley, nephews Josh (Melissa) and Luke (Olivia) and great niece Willa.  

William was the husband to the love of his life, his friend, his heart, Deborah for 20 years.  Deborah had two sons, who he thought of as his best friends.  James (Lisa) Kirkland and Jeff (Christy) Kirkland. He was known as "Puppy" to his granddaughters Katlyn Kirkland, Cheianne Kirkland, Mackenzie (Austin) West and Lindsey Kirkland and great grandsons Maddox, Abram and Mason. 

William was a self-employed building contractor. He loved to build things.  Him and his wife Deborah were inseparable; they did everything together from the time they were married. Deborah was his soul mate from working together to anything outdoors; camping, hunting, fishing or kayaking down the river.  

The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the family residence.  If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to St. Jude's Hospital.
