Obituary of Rebecca Cunningham Tackett

Becky was born June 9th, 1934 and raised in Naruna, Virginia. She was a daughter of the late Myrtle and Wilkes Cunningham. She was married to Ed Tackett for over 60 years. She was a loving and devoted wife. She loved her son and grandchildren. Becky had a passion for cooking and loved helping people. She was always available to tell stories about growing up and her experiences in life. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ed Tackett. She is also survived by her son, Phillip Duane Tackett of Omaha NE., her Daughter-in-Law, Chris Tackett and grandchildren, Alyssa Tackett, Mackenzie Tackett and Connor Tackett, all of Omaha, NE.  

She is survived by her sisters Glennie Singleton of Brookneal, VA., Pat Coleman of Danville, VA., and her brothers, Billy Cunningham, Brookneal, VA., and Wayne Cunningham of Lynchburg, VA. She is preceded in death by three sisters, Arline Riley, Lois Farrar and Sadie Burg, and two brothers, Marvin Cunningham and W.C. Cunningham.  

She loved and is survived by her God Daughter, Amy Richmond of Lynchburg, VA. She also loved her God Son, Andy Phillips, of Aiken, South Carolina, who is preceded in her death.  

She was a member of the congregation of Union Christian Church, Madison Heights, VA. and a devoted friend of Pastor Jim Freeman.  

A graveside service will be held Friday, December 2, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Freeman officiating.
