Obituary of Rudolph Kane

Rudolph Bayne Kane, “R.B”, Rudy, Age 88, left this earth for his heavenly home on the evening of January 26, 2022. He was the son of Ray and Luella Kane of Fries, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sheila Ashwell and Brenda Ross.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lovoria. Two sons, Rodney Kane and wife, Rhonda, and Barry Kane, and wife Cheryl; four granddaughters, Nicole Kane Dalton and husband, Chad, Morgan Kane, Jessie Hemric and husband Brett, Holly Ballowe and husband, Thomas and five great-grandchildren Logan, Jackson, Levi, Autumn, and soon to be born Audrey; two brothers, Sterling Kane and Mike Kane and his wife Pat, as well as a sister-in-law Shirley Vaughan and husband Duane. 

R.B. loved his family and tried to put their needs before his own. He attended every ballgame, music recital, school and church performance, graduation, marriage ceremony, and any other event of significance he could. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years and worked at B&W for 40 years. He was an avid sports fan and loved basketball, UVA, and the Dodgers. He is also in the Fries High School Hall of Fame. He was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church for over 50 years where he served as a Sunday school teacher in the junior department, an usher and a deacon in his younger years.  

The funeral will be held at Timberlake Baptist Church on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour before.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be sent to Timberlake Christian School, Timberlake Baptist Church, or Miller Home for Girls.
