Robert was an example and inspiration to all of us younger faculty at Randolph-Macon Woman's College. His scholarship was matchless. His wit and humor continually cheered us in the faculty lounge, and even in tedious faculty meetings. We shall never see his like again. We were fortunate to get to be his junior colleagues.

Our sincere condolences to you Celia and to all the family. We enjoyed both your mother and father tremendously and feel honored to have known them. I actually took a class with your dad when finishing up my degree at RMWC, and I loved every minute.

Dr. Lloyd was my favorite teacher ever. He always left his office door open so that I could study in there. I majored in Latin mostly because I wanted to study with him. And if I hadn’t done that I would not have the career I have. He was a wonderful, kind, funny and fun man. Deepest condolences and gratitude for a life well-lived.
Robert was greatly loved and admired here at the Summit Independent Living. We at the monthly wine club, which he attended even when he moved to assisted living, will miss him, his humor and excellent wine contributions very much and send our sincere sympathies to his family.
