Obituary of Sterling Fay Behling

Sterling Fay (Knight) Behling, 85, died on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at her home in Kilmarnok, VA. 

Our beloved mother’s soul has passed on into our heavenly Father's home. We thank God we were with her holding her hand and releasing her into our Saviors arms.

A native of Lynchburg, she was the wife of the late Carroll Owen Sandvig and Robert Behling and daughter of the late Sterling Lafayette and Eva Turner Knight.

Fay was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Lynchburg. She was a kind, giving and loving daughter, mother and wife who dedicated her time to her children, husband, family and friends. Fay was an avid reader, and had a love for gardening, interior decorating, photography of beautiful sunsets and nature.

She is survived by sons, Eric Sandvig and his wife, Wanda of Lynchburg, and Gregory Sandvig and his wife, Carol of Appomattox, VA, daughter, Cynthia Hogan of Appomattox, VA, son, Joseph Sandvig of Richmond and daughter, Jessica Coada of Kilmarnok, VA;  six grandchildren;  five great-grandchildren;  nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Sandvig.

A private celebration of life gathering  will take place at Fay's oldest son Eric and his wife Wanda residence on July 25th at 2pm  All inquiries call Jessie at 804- 436- 5165
