Obituary of Gracie Caldwell Cumbie

Gracie Florence Caldwell Cumbie, 91, of Lynchburg, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 24, 2019 at her home.  She was the wife of the late Memphis Alexandria Cumbie.

Born April 27, 1927, in Bedford County, she was a daughter of the late Albert Clyde and Lilly Bell Thomas Caldwell. She was a retired seamstress with the former Dale Garment Manufacturing and later as a personal caregiver and a charter member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Ricky Neal Cumbie and his wife, Rhonda, of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Amanda Austin (Adam), Ricky Cumbie, Chantel Cumbie and Paige Cumbie; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with Rev. Carlton Duck officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-8:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Virginia Memorial Park.
