Obituary of Rosa Lee Guinn

                Rosa Lee (Rosie) Jackson Guinn, 93, of Lynchburg, Virginia, went home to be with God on Tuesday, November 20, 2018.  Rosie was one of two surviving children of the late Robert Eli and Nancy Jane Williams Jackson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Guinn Jr.; her grandson, Lee Murphey; two sisters: Eliza Harless and Margaret Settle; and eight Jackson brothers: George, Shular, Bill, John, Frank, Jim, Howard and Luther.

                Rosa, a devoted mother, is survived by four children: Hazel Kitts (Gary), Brenda Kalinchak (George), Rosa Guinn (Ray Bennett), and Jonnie Wesley Guinn (Theresa), ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister, Hazel Harless; one brother-in-law, Graham Guinn, many nieces and nephews, and her dear friend Patty Mitchell.

                Rosa was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.  She greatly enjoyed her family, her church family, her apartment at McGurk House, and her embroidery.  She looked forward to her annual walks around the lake at Peaks of Otter, which she completed every year from 2003 to 2017.  Everyone who met Rosie fell in love with her beautiful blue eyes and her heart-felt smile.

                A visitation will begin at 10:00 on Saturday, November 24^th, at Gethsemane Baptist Church followed by the memorial service with the Reverend Carlton Duck officiating.  Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
