Obituary of Robert Lewis Stump

Robert Lewis Stump, 76, of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital.  Born May 30, 1942, in Lynchburg, VA, Robert was the son of the late Willie Robert Stump and Eliza May Krantz Stump.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Spencer Stump and one sister, Brenda Faye Hall.

Robert, once he retired from Aerofin and Kroger, enjoyed traveling.  He traveled to many places by train and bus and especially loved visiting San Diego, CA and Niagara Falls, Canada.  He also enjoyed bowling and watching wrestling.  Most recently, he loved spending time with his ‘monkeys’.

Robert is survived by two daughters, Debra Lynn Stump of Charlottesville, and Cynthia Stump Hunter (Roger, Jr.) of Lynchburg; three grandchildren (his monkeys), Logan Hunter, Kaitlyn Hunter, and Hannah Hunter; one brother, Roger Preston Stump (Peggy T.) of Huddleston, and Linda Gail Davis (Roger Scruggs) of Prospect; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends and family at Diuguid Funeral Home on Wiggington Road on Tuesday from 6-8 PM. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
