We loved Winnie. Truly, she fought a good fight and finished the course. Now she has gone to be with Jesus. I am so sorry that I cannot join in the celebration of her life tomorrow. Have an appointment. My love and prayers for the family, Virginia Marshburn

With deepest sympathy and prayers on your tremendous loss. While there are no words adequate for the loss of a good mother, know that she left a sizable and lasting imprint not only on your lives but all who crossed her path. Mrs. Cress was the epitome of grace and poise. She was a mentor to me when I worked for her in the LC Loan Office, and to this day, I feel the effect of her counsel and instruction. Her fortitude in the face of many of life's trials was an inspiration. She trusted the faithfulness of God and exemplified a model Christian life. She believed in the power of reaching out with a hand-written note. She believed in a job done right and in giving 100%. She was an engaged and caring listener, and people were drawn to her for that personal quality. She was very proud of her family and readily recounted your accomplishments. There are not many people like her, but how lucky we have been to know her and aspire to her example. May the Lord of Peace comfort and surround each of you at this sad time.
In Christ's Love, Glenda Dawson

Winnie and Cecil were my neighbors in Clays Crossing. Although I didn't get to know them well, I know that they were both people of integrity, strong character, and courage. We often chatted in passing, and they always had big smiles in spite of all the physical challenges Cecil was facing at the time. Winnie was a devoted constant care giver - truly inspirational. It was my privilege and a blessing to have known them both. Heaven will be such a happy place of reunion for us all. Warm regards to your family, Nancy Lilly
