We had the pleasure of living next door to Johnny's granddaughter, Karen, her husband, Joe and their four children, Ashley, Sarah, Justin and Ryan. During that time we were able to meet Johnny a couple of times while he visited them and had a chance to sit down and talk with him for a few hours. It was during those talks with him, and from stories that Karen, Joe and his great grand kids would tell, that I really got the feeling for what a craftsman he was in his work and how much he cared for his family and how much they truly cared for him. There was a lot of love among Johnny, his granddaughter, her husband and all his great grandchildren. When he spoke of them there was such a twinkle in his eyes. He was a real gentleman. We feel so honored to have met him.
