Obituary of Elizabeth Rose Mapp

Elizabeth Rose Mapp, 78, of Forest, VA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at The Summit.

She was a loving and caring wife of Garland for 50 years. Rose was a daughter of the late Astor and Minnie Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, Marion Van Adams, Sr.  Rose is survived by two daughters, Joy Bush (Jeffrey), Cathy Rose; two granddaughters, Courtney Rose (Chad) and Nathalie Bush.

She was a member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church, where she participated in the music ministry.  Rose also shared her gift of music throughout the area at various nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She worked as a missionary payroll specialist for 8 years at The IMB (The International Mission Board of The Southern Baptist Convention) in Richmond. Rose left the IMB and moved to Lynchburg where she cared for her husband after his multiple transplants.

Rose was very creative and expressed it through art, music, and writing.  She loved her family and most importantly her grandchildren. Rose was quoted as saying the thing she liked most about her life was, "Watching my granddaughters grow up to be beautiful young women."

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory-Waterlick Chapel, 21914 Timberlake Rd. Lynchburg, VA 24502.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the funeral home from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. 

Burial will be in Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Dr, Williamsburg, VA 23188 at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2022
