Obituary of Roy Edward Nix, Jr.

Roy Edward Nix Jr. fell asleep in death on March 28, 2020. He was the much loved husband to Barbara Marie Nix for 34 years, since their marriage on November 30, 1985.

Roy was born on September 28, 1937 to Roy E. Nix Sr. and Uleta Riley Nix in Houston, Texas. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Sr. and Uleta and his beloved sister Riley.

When Roy accepted a Bible Study with Jehovah’s Witnesses he recognized the “ring of truth’. He retired from the Navy early and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on September 3, 1974. Roy was a humble and unassuming man who loved Jehovah God and his creation. Roy dearly loved his family.

He is survived by his wife Marie of Amherst, VA, his brother Luke Way (Anita) of Ontario, Canada, his sister Sharon Lawrence (Clint) of Houston, TX.

Roy is also survived by his children, son Karl Nix (wife Sarah, daughter Ariel), daughter Sarah Nix (her son Skylar Hall), stepdaughter Rebecca Hight (her daughters Samantha Campbell and Leah Galligher) and great grandchildren Claudia, Logan and Raegen Campbell and Jaydon Galligher. He is also survived by his brother in law George Jones and sister in law Lisa Wiebking (Bill).
