Virginia ?Jean? Brewer Hill, 92, of Forest, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 at Avante? Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas ?Jack? Jackson Hill. They were married July 11, 1942. Born May 19, 1920 in Bluefield, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Virgie Pruett Brewer. Jean was a homemaker and member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and Grand International Auxiliary of BLF&E. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Hill Asbury of Columbia, SC and Linda Hill Cox of Forest, VA; one granddaughter, Jacqui Asbury and her husband, Jvan Jovanovitch, of Columbia, SC; one grandson Breck Cox and his wife, Kirby, of Lynchburg; one great grandson, Nolan Thomas Cox; one special cousin, Tootsie Sneed of St. Paul, VA and many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Jackson Hill, Jr.; three brothers, Lt. Col. Harry E. Brewer, H. Homer Brewer and Charles Ronald Brewer; two sisters, Marie Crockett and Kitty Shufflebarger The family wishes to thank the dedicated and loving staff of Avante? and Centra PACE for the care given to Mrs. Hill. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. A celebration of Jean?s life and faith will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Roger Roller officiating. A graveside service will be in Bluefield West, Virginia in Monte Vista Cemetery on Friday afternoon.
