Obituary of Wallace Thacker

Wallace Bryan Thacker, 87, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Medical Care Center. He was the husband of Pearl Lindsay Thacker for 57 years. Born August 28, 1925, in Covington, VA, he was a son of the late Leroy Ransome Thacker and Annie Long Thacker. He proudly served in the Army-Air Corps during World War II. He was a graduate of The Medical College of Virginia-School of Pharmacy and retired from Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was a member of Rivermont Ave. Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Leroy Ransome Thacker, II and his wife, Karen, of Mechanicsville, VA; two grandchildren, Anne Lindsay Thacker and Katelyn Leigh Thacker; one great-grandchild, Ryleigh Kathryn Thacker. A celebration of Wallace?s life and faith will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Rivermont Ave. Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Land officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service with a reception in the fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Rivermont Ave. Baptist Church, 1301 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24504 or a charity of your choice.
