Obituary of Dennis Morton

Dennis K. Morton, 61, of Lynchburg passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday morning after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lynchburg on December 27, 1950 he was the son of the late David and Nancy Morton. Dennis worked for the English Construction Co. for over 30 years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy on the ship USS Whitney. He enjoyed camping, canoeing, fishing and golf but most of all his favorite time was ?Shedding? with family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Caroline and her friend, Andy Solley. His brothers, David Morton, Daniel Morton and his wife, Beth. A sister, Missy Taraldsen and her husband, John. He was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephew, Stacy, Lindsay, Merideth, Megan and Tripp and was a great uncle to Maxx, Addie, John Parker, Carter and Meg. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 PM Friday, November 30, 2012 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 2050 Langhorne Rd., Suite 201, Lynchburg, VA. 24501
