Obituary of Deronda Mason

Deronda Fay Mason-Bennett, 57, of Verona, VA, , went to her heavenly home on December 18, 2012, in a parade of stars, to spend her first Christmas with Jesus and her daddy and her step-father Luciano Giochinni. Born November 9, 1955 in Lynchburg, VA, she was a daughter of Audrey Page Mason Gioacchini and the late Charles Mason. She was a graduate of Fort Defiance High School and Radford University where she graduated with a degree in ?Communication Disorders?. Her career was devoted to the hearing impaired and children with autism. She completed a program in cosmetology at the Valley VoTech. She was of the Baptist faith. Deronda is survived by her loving and devoted family; her children Caitlan B. Lathrop and her husband, Randy, of Staunton and Jacob Bennett of Verona, VA; her mother, Audrey M. Gioacchini of Staunton; two sisters, Candace Wingfield of High Point, NC and Renae Mason of Appomattox, VA ; her brother Charles Mason, II and his wife, Jackie, of Mt. Juliet, TN; five nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel. Graveside and interment will in the Page family cemetery in Appomattox, VA (Rt. 24) on Thursday at 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Good News Ministry in Staunton ( 18 Kerry Lane-Rt. 11) with the Rev. Dan G. Mason officiating. The family will receive friends after the service until 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
