Obituary of Mary McBride

Mary Carpenter McBride, 95, of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. Born in West Virginia on February 17, 1917 she was a daughter of the late Atwell Luther Carpenter and Mary Moore Carpenter and was the widow of Clarence Nelson McBride. Mrs. McBride was retired from J.C. Penney?s. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy L. McBride-Hall and her husband, Gary Hall of Forest. Two sisters, Marion Dawson of Botetourt and Delores Humphreys and her husband, Massie of Elon. One brother, Atwell Luther Carpenter, Jr. and his wife, Alice of Pleasant View. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Eugene McBride. A Celebration of Mary?s life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday,January 12, 2013 at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
