Obituary of Judy Burks

Judy ?Liz? Tomlin Burks, 80, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Earl Edward Burks. Born May 12, 1932 in Amherst County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Henry Dewey Tomlin and Nevie Staton Tomlin. She was a retired seamstress and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by three sons, Albert Burks, Tim Burks of Lynchburg and Douglas Burks and his wife, Sondra of Amherst; two brothers, Ralph Tomlin and his wife, Judy, of Lynchburg and Lewis Tomlin and his wife, Joann, of Rustburg; one sister, Lois Matney of Virginia Beach, VA. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in Spring Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dan G. Mason officiating. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6-9 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2250 Murrell Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24501.
