Obituary of Lelia Weber

Lelia Virginia Weber, age 97, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2013 in Media, Pennsylvania. She was a resident at Sunrise at Granite Run Assisted Living, and a former resident of The Summit in Lynchburg. She was the loving wife of the late, Allan O. Weber and devoted mother of sons, Allan W. Weber (Terry M. Weber) of Media, PA. and the late John R. Weber (Cathy Weber) of Dubuque, IA. Beloved grandmother of Amanda R. Weber, Rochester, NY, Caitlin Q. Weber, Ann Arbor, MI and Rachael Weber Mundcshau, Dubuque, IA and great grandmother of Charlotte Mundcshau, Dubuque, IA. Virginia was born in Lynchburg to Archie Austin Wallace and Hattie Rudd Wallace. She was the first of four children, and survived her brothers, W. Ward Wallace, Archie Austin Wallace, Jr. and David R. Wallace. Following post war years in Atlanta, GA. And Baltimore, MD. ,she resided with her family in Hackensack, NJ from 1949 to 1969. While raising two young sons, she was a volunteer for the Red Cross Military Services, The Hackensack Hospital and a member of the First Congregational Church, Hackensack, NJ. Virginia Was always very involved in her communities but always held a special place in her heart for Lynchburg. Since returning in 1969 she was involved with and maintained the following memberships and volunteer affiliations in Lynchburg: The First Christian Church, The Blue Ridge Chapter of the DAR, The Timbrook Woman?s Club, The Windsor Hills Garden Club, The Lynchburg Council fo Garden Clubs, The Lynchburg Museum System serving as a volunteer Docent, The Lynchburg Food Pantry volunteer, A hospital Volunteer for both Lynchburg General Hospital and Virginia Baptist Hospital where she knitted a couple of thousand new born baby caps. A Celebration of Virginia's Life will be held 11:00AM Friday, February 1, 2013 at First Christian Church with the Rev. Audrey M. Connor officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to any of the above organizations or the Lynchburg charity of your choice.
