Obituary of Helen Anderson Bertrand

Helen Anderson Bertrand, 75, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital after an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Leland E. Bertrand, Sr. Born December 15, 1937 in Alexandria, VA, she was a daughter of the late Chester R. and Lillian H. Anderson. Helen was retired from Centra Health-Lynchburg General Hospital where she worked as a Financial Counselor. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Helen was a loving wife. mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She is survived by two sons, Leland E. Bertrand, Jr. and his wife, Carol of Lynchburg and Jay J. Bertrand and his wife, Becky, of Glen Allen, VA; one sister, Mary K. Anderson of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Leland E. Bertrand, III, Joshua D. Bertrand, Bethany L. Bertrand and Katy L. Bertrand. A mass of the resurrection will be held Friday, May 10, 2013 at 6:00 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Monsignor Michael McCarron as celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Commons of the church. A private committal service and interment will be held in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery .
