Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Jefferson

MARY "ELIZABETH" JEFFERSON Mrs. Mary "Elizabeth" Jefferson was born June 7, 1931 in Lynchburg, VA. She was the daughter of the late Bertha Carter and Henry Carter, Sr. Liz entered her eternal rest peacefully at Liberty Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Jefferson was a member of Dearington Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, A. Wendell Jefferson, Sr.; Her son, A. Wendell, Jr.; 3 brothers, Howard "Giggs" Carter, Henry Carter and John M. Carter.; Two sisters, Christine Patillo and Evelyn Napier. She is survived by a sister, Louise Carter of Lynchburg; A grandson, LaVar Jefferson; A devoted and caring daughter-in-law, Brenda A. Jefferson of Lynchburg; and a loyal friend, Lisa Clyburn of Bedford; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Celebration of Elizabeth's Life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel with the Rev. Edward Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Lynchburg Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
