Obituary of Donne Madden Stanek

Donne Marie Madden Stanek, 77, of Winston-Salem, NC and formerly of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 at The Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence James Stanek. Born November 20, 1935, in New Orleans, LA, she was the daughter of the late Edward Peuch and Eutha Eugene Madden. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Mather College and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a lifelong lover of history and travel. She is survived by five children, Mark Stanek and his wife Betsy of Winston-Salem, NC, Danny Stanek and his wife Connie, of Roanoke, VA, Greg Stanek and his wife, Estella, of Clinton, MD, John Stanek and his wife, Kathy of Grosse Point, MI, Jamie Stanek, and his wife, Shannon, of Pottstown, PA; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson. The family would like to thank Drs. Basrai and English and the staff of the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem for their warm and tender care of Mrs. Stanek. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Presbyterian Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. James J.H.Price officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to your church or a charity of your choice. Diuguid Funeral Service-Wiggington Road Chapel, 385-8900, is serving the family.
