Obituary of Claudine Johnson Powell

Claudine Johnson Powell, 88, of Forest, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert Lee Powell. Born January 8, 1925 , in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Bernard Johnson and Vivian Nuckols Johnson. She was a former member of Madison Heights Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Crist and her husband, Mike, of Forest; two grandchildren, Steve Crist and his wife, Joanna and Greg Crist and his wife Laura; two great-grandchildren, Abbey Crist and Madelyn Crist. She was preceded in death by four brothers. A funeral service will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel with the Rev. Charles Stinson officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-5 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Virginia Memorial Park.
