Obituary of Shelby Harris Patrick

Shelby Harris Patrick, 67, of Forest, VA was called home Friday, November 22, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Thomas Patrick. Born March 14, 1946 in Chatham, VA, she was a daughter of the late Harry Fitzgerald Harris and Clara Motley Harris. Shelby was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She was a housewife and member of Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church where she often played piano. She also played and sang with a church group at local nursing homes and other churches . In addition to her husband, Tom, she is survived by one son Kenny Patrick and his wife, Lani, of Forest; one daughter, Tracy P. Travis and her husband, Steve, of Amherst; one brother, Robert F. Harris and his wife Gerry, of Chatham , VA and one sister, Shirley H. Welsh and her husband, Sam, of Leesburg, VA; three grandchildren, Keaton , Kali and Holland Patrick and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother James O. Harris. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Towne Square Unit at the Summit and the doctors, nurses and staff at Lynchburg General Hospital for their wonderful and dedicated care given to Mrs. Patrick. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Randy Harlow and Rev. Bill Burleigh officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday prior to the service from 11AM to 1 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Virginia Memorial Park Memorial contributions may be made to Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church, 20348 Leesville Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24502.
