Obituary of Harry W. Dallison

Harry Dallison, 97, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 28, 2013. Preceding Harry in death was his beloved wife of 65 years, Cleda Moist. Harry leaves behind three children, Russell Dallison and his wife, Fran, Carol McNeil and her spouse, Kenneth Jenkins, Kenneth Dallison and friend in addition to four grandchildren, Lisa Shepherd, Laura Jennings, Aaron Dallison, and Jenna Glorioso and nine great grandchildren. Harry served his country during WW II in the U.S. Navy having served as a radio operator in the Submarine Service. He was born on June 10, 1916. He was a life member of the Masons, a member of Eubank Lodge #262, a member of the Artisans Order, a Mutual Protection Insurance Lodge, as well as a life member of Abington High School in PA. He was a life member of The Edge Hill Fire Company in North Hills, PA. and an avid licensed radio amateur since 1933 as W3DMF, K2IUQ and W4MLQ. Harry worked as an exterminator before becoming a sound engineer for various radio stations and General Electric during his long life. He was responsible for the construction of WSET's building and the 1,230 foot tower on Thaxton Mountain. His technical paper for microwave building's snow and snorkel was published for American Engineers. Harry's love of classical music, his friendliness, and wonderful sense of humor will always be remembered. A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
