Obituary of Miss Naomi Mildred Foster

Naomi Mildred Foster, 90, of Lynchburg was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born December 14, 1922, in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Roger Allen Foster, Sr. and Cora Walker Foster. She graduated from E.C. Glass High School and later D.L. Moody Bible Institute. Naomi served our country in the United States Navy during WW-II. She was retired from B & W as an Executive Secretary and later from Genworth. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Lynchburg and a current member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She is survived by one sister, Shirley Foster Bibb of Lynchburg; three nieces, Jane Siebert Nester (Virgil), Robin Bibb Pomeroy and Judy Bibb Burks (Kenneth) all of Lynchburg; two nephews, Roger Allen Foster, III. of Lynchburg and Timothy Lee Foster, (Cathy) of Hudson, NY; six great nieces and nephews, Kassidy, Kyle and Kolby Nester, Emily Foster, Leslie Burks and April Pomeroy. She was preceded in death by one brother Roger Allen Foster, Jr. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Lynchburg General and the Lynchburg Fire Dept. EMS staff for all of their wonderful care given Miss Foster. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at West Lynchburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert Putt officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-8:30 P.M. at Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel. Flowers are welcomed. Memorial contributions may be made to West Lynchburg Baptist Church, 3031 Memorial Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24501. Burial will be private in Fort Hill Memorial Park Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory- Wiggington Road Chapel, 385-8900, is serving the family.
