Obituary of Charles Wiiliam Long, Jr.

Charles William Long, Jr. (Boomer), of Evington, VA passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 76. Charles was born in Radford, VA on July 28, 1947, and was a Lynchburg resident for 50 years.  

Charles enjoyed being with his family and friends and he  enjoyed making them laugh and smile even more. He was a model train and train enthusiast in his free time and remained an active member in the Blue Ridge Chapter National Railway Historical Society. He was also a faithful blood and platelet door to the Red Cross.  

Charles is predeceased by his parents, Pauline and Charles Long, Sr. and a sister, Donna Spraker. He is survived by his brother, Will Long (his wife, Sandi), his wonderful wife of 55 years, Judy Long; his son, Jeremy Long; Katelyn Litz (favorite granddaughter) and his 5 great-grandchildren,Landon, Emma, Grayson, Audree and Brooklyn; his sister-in-law, Sandra Martin (husband, Vernon); a special cousin, Caroll Wood; his sister-in-law Jenny Brown Martin and two nieces, Kerri Hamilton and Stacey Vaughan 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 12 noon until 12:45 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm in the Diuguid Chapel. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
