Obituary of Patricia Jean Mills

Patricia Jean Mills, 85, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Lynchburg General Hospital.  

Born April 2, 1938, in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Byrd Mills, Sr. and Susie Mae Gunter Mills.

She was retired from the United States Postal Service and was a founding member of Eastbrook Baptist Church which was started by her father and her brother, Robert.  

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Wanda Burns who was her dedicated caregiver for many years; several nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Nancy Mills Jennings. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wyatt Ashby Mills, Sr., Carl Byrd Mills, Jr. and Robert Edward Mills, Sr.

A family visitation will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023, from Noon to 1:00 P.M. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel followed by a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. The burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
