Obituary of Michael Lee Johnson

Michael Lee Johnson, 68 of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 3, 2023, at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Born November 23, 1954, in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Carlton and Jean Johnson. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson and spending time with family and friends. Mike lived his life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed. 

He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Johnson and her husband Phil Crader, of Sacramento, CA; his brother, Greg Johnson and his wife, Marilyn, of Knoxville, TN; his life partner and best friend, Nancy Blackwell and her daughter, Dawn Jennings and her husband, Donnie; two step grandchildren, Marcella and Will Crader; Nancy’s grandchildren, Justin and his wife, Vanessa, and Jason Bobbitt; Nancy’s great grandchildren, Easton, Layla, and Willow Bobbitt, Vivian and Devin Holdren. 

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held Sunday, August 20th from 3-5 PM at Charley’s Restaurant, 707 Graves Mill Rd. 

In lieu of flowers, Mike requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, stjude.org.
