Obituary of Karen Ballowe

Karen Horn Ballowe Karen Horn Ballowe, 51, of Forest, entered into the presence of the Lord, Friday, June 27, 2008 after an extended illness. Born January 20, 1957, in Flint, Michigan, she was a daughter of Hubert and Shirley Horn of Burton, Michigan. Karen is survived by her husband of 26 years, David M. Ballowe of Forest; her parents, Hubert and Shirley Horn; two sisters, Cindy Vickers of Grand Blanc, MI and Amy Kidder of Palm Harbor, FL; one brother, Greg Horn and his wife Marsha of Burton, MI; three nieces and nephews, Jared, Amber and Jordan Kidder; Karen's mother-in-law, Joyce Ballowe; two loving aunts, Marjorie Vaughan and Barbara Ballowe; a sister-in-law, Lisa Hutchens and her husband Terry and their two daughters, Mary and Laura all of Lynchburg and several other aunts and uncles. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 am in Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Ewing officiating. The family will receive friends today from 5-7 pm at the church. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1290 Seminole Trail, Suit 2, Charlottesville, Va., 22901.
