Obituary of Anne Lewis
ANNE LIGON LEWIS
Anne Ligon Lewis, 68, of Lynchburg
died Saturday, July 12, 2008
at The Summit.
Born in Lynchburg
on May 25, 1940 she was a
daughter of the late Thomas Cecil Ligon and Isabel Allen Ligon and was the wife
of James S. Lewis.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church where
she worked with the youth and was a church Elder. She taught school in Appomattox
before coming to Lynchburg to teach
in the Lynchburg School System. She was
a member of the VEA and NEA.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Summit for
the wonderful and loving care given to Anne.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children,
R. Kent Ramsey and his wife, Martha of Appomattox, Michael D. Ramsey and his
wife, Cheryl of Pickerington, OH., Kathy Ramsey Burge and her husband, Rick of
Appomattox; her grandchildren, Jamie Davis and her husband, Chad, Lauren Moore
and her husband, Josh, Megan Burge and Zach Burge all of Appomattox; great
grandchildren, Karlee Davis, Kyle Davis, Rylee Moore and Jacob Warner; and a
brother, Thomas C. Ligon, Jr. and his wife, Marian of Wayland, Mass. She is also survived by her stepchildren and
their families: James S. Lewis, Jr. and wife Kathy of Lynchburg, Linda A. Lewis
of San Rafael, CA., Mark E. Lewis of Atlanta and Martha J. Yasuda and her
husband, Ken of Atlanta; grandchildren, Justin Lewis, Adam Lewis, Jennifer Aleandro
and her husband, Edwin, Daniel Booth, Dana Ogden-Lewis and Jessica Ogden-Lewis
all of Lynchburg, Kenny Yasuda of Atlanta and Hannah Windham and her husband,
Jacob of Miss, and daughter-in-law,
Sherry Ogden Hudson and her husband, Darrell.
A Celebration of Anne's Life and Faith will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at St. Andrew Presbyterian
Church with the Rev. Chuck Willoughby officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 PM
at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel.
The family suggests that memorials be made either to St.

or to a charity of your choice.
