Obituary of Mildred Markham Doss

Mildred Marie Markham Doss Mildred Marie Markham Doss, 69, of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 in her home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Cecil Eugene Doss. Born June 30, 1939, in Big Island, VA she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Gracie Markham. She was formally employed by C.B. Fleet. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She is survived by four children, James Dean Wooldridge, and his wife Elizabeth, of Lynchburg, Sharon Wooldridge Wingfield, and her husband, Michael, of Rustburg, Ray Allen Wooldridge, and his wife, Michelle, of Bakersfield, CA, and David Wayne Doss, and his wife, Melanie, of Mrytle Beach, S.C. In addition to her children, she is survived by three brothers, Dillard Markham, and his wife, Ruth, of Lynchburg, Stewart Markham, and his wife, Reka, of Lynchburg, Arthur Markham, and his wife, Ruby, of Lynchburg, one sister Dot Garrett of Lynchburg, and a special sister-in-law, Rachel Markham of Lynchburg; twelve grandchildren, Matthew, Adam, and Jeremy Wooldridge, Stefanie and Mark Lewis, John and Christy Tucker, Thomas Candy, Madison Doss, and Dalton, Aubrey, and Teona Wooldridge; a special loving nephew Donald Bryant; two special loving nieces Darlene Hill and Brenda Yarber, along with numerous other nieces and nephews; two loving care givers and close friends Tricia Shupe and Tammy Winnagle, along with a very special Hospice nurse, Connie Bailey. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arnold, Allen, and Hayden Markham; as well as, two sisters, Isebell Fromm and Audrey Saunders. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 28, 2008 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Ewing officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-5 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Hills. 1901 Tate Springs Road Lynchburg, Va. 24501.
