Obituary of Robert Martin

Robert George Martin, Sr., 87, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008. He was the husband of the late Doris Durham Martin of 55 years. Born in Rustburg October 10, 1920 he was a son of the late Eugene Washington and Hattie Pick Martin. Mr. Martin was a retired employee of Montague-Betts and a long time member of Parkview United Methodist Church. Surviving are his two children, Doris M. Brammer and husband Jerry of Lynchburg, Robert G. Martin, Jr. and wife Pam of Burke; his brother James Andrew Martin and wife Louise; four grandchildren, Kelly B. and husband Larry Campbell, Jennifer B. and husband Michael Elliott, Jerri Beth B. and husband Kevin Wilmouth all of Lynchburg and Melissa C. and husband Raymond Lewis, III of Fort Mill, SC and eight great grandchildren, Jeremy B. Campbell, Dustin W. Campbell, Katherine A. Campbell, Lauren T. Elliott, Samuel C. Elliott, Ellis W. Wilmouth Christopher R. Wilmouth and Morgan E. Wilmouth. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm in Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Earl D. Martin officiating. The Family will receive friends today from 3-5 pm at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel and at other times will be at the home of Doris and Jerry Brammer.
