FREDERICK "FRED" FONTAINE BROOKS
Frederick "Fred"
Fontaine Brooks,
67, of Lynchburg died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Lynchburg
General Hospital.
Born in Lynchburg on January 15, 1941 he was a son of the
late Thomas Lee Brooks and Elsie Grey Brooks and was the husband of Patricia
Daniel Brooks.
Mr. Books was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of Marsh
Memorial United Methodist
Church were he served as a trustee
and was a member of American Legion Post 16. He retired from the Lynchburg
foundry but continued to work at Alliance Industrial.
Fred was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather
and brother. He is survived by his wife, Patricia D. Brooks, his three
children, Bo Brooks and his wife, Donna of Rustburg, Kelly Brooks Schmitt and her
husband, Frank of Evington and Chris D. Brooks and his wife, Kristie of Hurt. His
six grandchildren, Ashley Brooks, Ally Brooks, Jacob Schmitt, Morgan Schmitt,
Elizabeth Brooks and Bailey Brooks and his brother, Van Brooks and his wife,
Joyce of Lynchburg and a special aunt, Verna Brooks.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a
sister, Gwen Jefferson.
A celebration of Fred's Life and Faith will be held 11:00 AM
Friday, September 26, 2008 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel on Timberlake
Rd. with the Rev. C. Randall Harlow officiating.
Interment will follow in Fort Hill
Memorial park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM
today at the funeral home.
